Hate planning? Do you prefer living on the edge? Then this series of monthly music festival picks published within a week or less of the festival opening is just what you need to start living fully. For the first edition we start with Desert Hearts.
It’s a techno and house festival brought to you by a ragtag crew of nomadic dreamers, who make their return to the festival circuit in less than a week. Taking place from 4-8th July at Playa Ponderosa, Arizona USA, this festival promises otherworldly vibes originally felt at the festival’s original home of Los Coyotes Indian Reservation.
Desert Hearts a boutique techno and house festival
Desert Hearts can best be described as a boutique festival that showcases the Desert Heart artists, along with other talented local DJs, and several international artists.
Don’t expect to see commercial artists on the stage or high budget marketing efforts to pull in revelers and stand out among the giant festivals. Desert Hearts have chosen to go down a more simple and grassroots path focusing on word of mouth, community, and of course the music.
Deserts Hearts line up
The festival line up is one for discovery. Expect deep bass lines, high energy summer house tracks and gold in them thar’ hills, that will have you wasting away your phone’s battery from the overuse of Shazam. Here’s a few names to expect. Walker & Royce, Anja Schneider, VNSSA, Gorje Hewek, Coco & Breezy, Atish, Ky William, Lisbona Sisters, and many more.
Aside from the top tracks being dropped you can expect art installations, live painters, art cars and a bunch of other activities for the avid side quester.
A snapshot into the history of Desert Hearts
Back in 2012, Desert Hearts began as a small gathering of a few hundred people deep in the Mojave Desert, dreamt up by Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Porkchop, Marbs, & Kristoff McKay. The crew had to battle extreme weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances, but regardless that first party sparked a fire, that continues to this day.
