AmplifyWorld, the fan engagement platform founded by Kasabian’s Ian Matthews and tech entrepreneur Irfon Watkinds, have announced the launch of a $500,000 Artist Fund programme that aims to support forward-thinking musicians worldwide.

Applications for the Artist Fund opened on July 10, 2024, following a successful trial at the Isle of Wight Festival, and will remain open until September 1, 2024. Artists interested in applying must have a Discord account and a Spotify Artist profile, ensuring that the fund reaches a wide array of talent.

AmplifyWorld is looking for focused musical talent

The organisation put out a call for applications who demonstrate exceptional musical talent and creativity, have a clear vision and plan for how they would use the grant, and share AmplifyWorld’s passion for innovation and the power of music to connect people.

The grants can be used to cover all music-related expenses – from songwriting and recording to production, marketing and touring. Applicants are encouraged to apply for cash grants ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 that matches their project aim.

The Artist Fund isn’t limited by location, genre, or experience. Essentially, they want to mirror the diversity of artists using the platform – a mix of commercial and alternative projects across jazz, rock, pop, rap, electronic, and everything in between.

“We’re looking forward to seeing applications from artists already using the platform as well as those new to AmplifyWorld, from all over the world,” said co-founder Ian Matthews.

Empowering artists through Web3

AmplifyWorld uses cutting-edge Web3 technology to empower artists in community-building, music distribution, and promotion. Grant recipients will not only receive financial support, but also gain free access to AmplifyWorld’s suite of advanced tools. This will help facilitate everything from track distribution to fan engagement and merchandise sales.

Shortlisted applicants will undergo a second-round interview, and the first grantees will be announced before the end of 2024. To find out more about the Artist Fund, including details on how to apply, take a look at the AmplifyWorld website.
