Here’s the lowdown on the history of Zombie Apocalypse:
Underground Sound spawned Malta’s first Zombie Apocalypse in the year 2018. Inspired by zombie events around the world, the island of Malta was bound for an infection and thus the first event was launched.
Held in partnership with Tigullio, the two organizations work together to put on this first of a kind event on the island with the purpose of supporting all elements of the underground music scene, regardless of genre.
The event was a resounding success with 1306 zombies involving the Trakadum group, highline acrobatic acts and a breathtaking amount of creative set design.
Zombie Apocalypse 2019 saw an even bigger turnout of 1680 zombies at Tigullio, breaking our previous record.
This year saw even more pandemonium including fire performances, silkline acrobatics on the main stage as well as flipped cars in the parking lot.
Behind Zombie Apocalypse is Underground Sound in collaboration with Tiguello Clubbing Complex.
Underground Sound is Malta’s first international, digital music hub that writes content countercurrent music, art and subculture.
